Benayoun completed a £5.5million move from Liverpool to Chelsea earlier this summer.
“It is one of the greatest clubs in Europe and when I had the chance to come it is the first thing I wanted to do,” the 30-year-old told Sky Sports News.
“I had a few offers, but as soon as I had interest from Chelsea there was only one thing that would happen.”
Benayoun has been struggling with a groin injury that he picked up earlier in pre-season.
“I pulled my groin so I rested for a week. I only came back training the other day, but I will be fit for the start,” he added.
“I feel very good, from the first moment they gave me a great feeling and I am enjoying every day and getting closer to everyone.
“I am sure I will have a great time here and be successful.”
