Besiktas have been trying to sign a new midfielder all summer and have been linked with players such as Rafael van der Vaart and Simone Perrotta.
Tabata has signed a three-year deal and is set to earn €1.5million per year at Besiktas.
The 28-year-old joined Gaziantepspor from Brazilian side Santos in the summer of 2008.
