Aston Villa turned down an offer for Ridgewell from Birmingham on Wednesday.
Bruce said: “We made an inquiry about Ridgewell on Wednesday but it was a bit late in the day especially as he was up at Newcastle preparing for a game and Martin O’Neill was as well.
“We’ve got the loan window in eight days. We will have a look at that market. I’ve got Jaidi, Taylor, N’Gotty so it is not as if we are desperate for cover there but always in the back of your mind is what happens if we get an injury there?
“Will I try and get Ridgewell on loan? I hate talking about other people’s players but we will see. We will visit it again. We made an inquiry. We will see.”
