“It was important that we came out of the blocks quickly, and we did that,” he told the club’s official website of the City game.
“That set the tone for the game and it is important to play like that when you are facing a team that has the undoubted quality and depth of Manchester City.
“The fact that we were disappointed that we didn’t take all three points says a lot, but I think our performance showed that we are back to where we should be – we need to keep doing that.
“The crowd were very important. They got right behind us and made it tough for Manchester City. We will need that again on Tuesday when we take on West Ham.”
