Lee said: “First and foremost I wasn’t offered it because it wasn’t offered as a full-time post.
“Unfortunately, it was not a full-time post that was offered to me. There were obviously names mooted around but I hadn’t been offered the full-time post.
“Anyone would be interested in the full-time England under-21 post because of the potential to work with great young players, it’s an all-embracing truly developmental role, but it wasn’t offered.”
