Wilkins was sacked by the Blues last week and reports have claimed that some first-team players at the club were unconvinced by his ability.
Drogba told Sky Sports: “Of course we miss Ray but the players are still the same.
“If we are losing it is not because Ray has gone, it is down to the players.”
Daniel Sturridge added: “Ray’s departure, we were sad to see him go. Mike’s taken over in the job and we respect Mike as well.”
