The 29-year-old impressed while on loan at Everton at the start of 2010 and Moyes is keen to bring the LA Galaxy midfielder back to Goodison on loan in January.
“We need to see where he is, physically,” said Moyes. “It’s something we will probably try.
“He was popular here and we could do with some speed and width.”
