Everton ready to hand Chelsea and Man Utd target new deal

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all shown an interest in the youngster.

But Everton is confident a one-year extension to Rodwell’s current three-year deal will be enough to keep the youngster at the club.

A close source told News of the World: “Jack is happy to get the deal but has always been a down-to-earth lad who just loves his football.

“The club appreciate that. Yet the thing they are most pleased with is the way the interest from other clubs did not turn his head in the slightest.

“They recognise his talent. But his temperament is what really separates him from a lot of other players his age.”
