Ferdinand is said to have avoided meetings with Capello last week as the England manager visit Old Trafford. However the BBC reveals sources close to player said:
“Rio will never turn his back on England.”
“He loves playing for his country and Fabio Capello cannot change that.”
Terry captains England for the first time in a year following the alleged affair with Wayne Bridge’s ex girlfriend, when he was stripped of the armband and Capello vowed to never reinstate him.
Ferdinand’s injury problems have prompted Capello to change his mind as he has sought a permanent solution for the position.
