Fergie hit with two-match ban

Ferguson has admitted the improper conduct charge, for his rage against official Mike Dean after their 4-3 win over Hull this month.

Fergie will miss the matches with Blackburn and Sunderland.

An FA statement read: “At a Regulatory Commission hearing today, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was given a two-match touchline ban and fined £10,000.

“Ferguson admitted a charge of improper conduct in relation to his behaviour towards referee Mike Dean following United’s match against Hull City on 1 November.

“The touchline ban will come into effect from 2 December. In reaching its decision, the Commission took into account Ferguson’s admission of the charge and his previous disciplinary record.”
