Van Nistelrooy has been struggling with injuries since joining the Bundesliga side from Real Madrid.
“I really wanted to play against Bayern Munich, but I won’t make it in time. I’m not yet fully match fit and it wouldn’t make any sense to include me in the match squad,” said van Nistelrooy on the official HSV website.
