Gomes: I’m still No.1

Cudicini joined Spurs from Chelsea on a free transfer in the January transfer window.

“It was disappointing to be left out of the Arsenal match earlier this month because I had told Harry I was ready to come back into the team,” he told The Sun.

“I feel the club supports me and the chairman has told me I am his No.1.

“I don’t feel threatened by Carlo because it is important for a club like Tottenham, with aspirations to challenge for honours, to have quality replacements for every position.

“I have at least three years left in my contract and intend to see them through. You are not going to see me happy on the bench, that’s for sure.

“The absence of a keeper to stand in when I had a hip injury was one of our biggest problems this season.

“Having said that, I was signed to be the club’s No.1 keeper and expect things to remain this way.”
