The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks.
“For sure he is happy to play his football for Barcelona, and to me he’s an outstanding talent who brings a lot to our team,” Alves told Setanta Sports.
“The truth is that I consider playing with him and being his team-mate a privilege.
“From what I know, he’s happy there and he’s not thinking about returning to the English league.
“At the moment he thinks he’s going to stay at Barcelona.”
