Hughes expects long-term Man City stay

Hughes has still two years left on his current deal and reports have claimed City’s owners the Abu Dhabi Group could consider replacing the former Manchester United striker in the summer.

“My future is the next two years here,” Hughes said in the Daily Mirror.

“I have two years left on my contract. I’ve not been banging on doors asking about a new contract, but I think they are pleased.

“The view this season was to make progress and I think we’ve done that as a team. The chairman understands where we are.”
