Mascherano leaving the club would for sure deepen Liverpool’s misery, as they are already six points behind Chelsea, and are missing Xabi Alonso, who joined Real Madrid in the summer.
Mascherano’s contract with Liverpool expires in 2012, but Juventus officials plan to open talks with Liverpool in coming weeks, according to The Sun.
Barcelona, who tried to sign the Argentine during the summer, are also still interested.
