The decision follows a move by the Inland Revenue to challenge current chairman Ken Bates’ proposed Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) – see our earlier news item. That court date has been set for 3rd September but Leeds first match of the new season is scheduled for 11th August.
KPMG have given a deadline of 5pm on Monday for potential buyers to come forward. In recent weeks there have been a number of interested parties including Duncan Revie, son of former manager Don Revie, and it is to be hoped that the ownership issue can be resolved before the start of the new season.
