The Daily Telegraph says City could make a world-record £50million bid for Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Other players on City’s short list for the January transfer window includes John Terry, Kolo Toure, Kaka, Lassana Diarra, Roque Santa Cruz, Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge.
It is believed Chelsea would consider selling some of their players due to their recent cost-cutting.
