Fergie said: “The defending in the first half was very poor. You won’t win games against anyone playing like that.
“Was the defending a concern? Absolutely it was. We were so open in the first half. We were all over the place when we lost the ball — as open as you can be.”
He added: “It was just the sort of workout we needed after the Far East tour.”
