United are in pole position to land three trophies this season, due to Rooney’s impressive form as of late.
If United win the Premier League title this season they will be the first team to ever win four titles on the bounce.
United will also eclipse rivals Liverpool, and stand alone on 19 league titles.
Rooney told The Sun: “I’ve always felt the league is the most important one to win, but especially this year.
“If we do that it will be four on the run, which no one has done before.
“And we would go above Liverpool’s number of titles so to do it this year would be a big, big moment for everyone at the club.”
