Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club have made contract offers for the duo.
“There are offers on the table for Puyol and Marquez and we are waiting for their answers,” Laporta is quoted as saying by Sport.
“The club has made very good offers and trusts that they will be accepted before the end of the year.”
“We thank those that have signed new deals for their participation in the future of the club. These are two iconic players [Puyol and Marquez] that have to follow,” he added.
“These are two issues that the club wants resolved by Christmas. It would be good for the club if they don’t take too long.”
