Newcastle skipper Parker ready to end Terry’s Quadruple dream

Parker and England skipper Terry became close pals during the Newcastle skipper’s 18-month spell at Stamford Bridge.

He told the Daily Mirror: “I was very close to Terry. We lived round the corner from each other. We were always in contact, our wives got on very well and we’re still in touch a lot.

“That was the closest relationship but all the English lads who were based near Cobham were quite close and you’ve seen that in Chelsea over the last couple of years.

“But there’s no place for friendship this weekend. We know how important it is for Chelsea but it’s big for us as well and it will give us extra motivation to beat them.

“When you play against the big clubs, and Chelsea are certainly that, you want to do well. It’s an achievement to do one over on them and you want to do it.”
