No punishment for Liverpool skipper

Gerrard struck Michael Brown with a forearm to the back of the Portsmouth ace’s neck in the second half of Liverpool’s 4-1 win.

Gerrard could have been in danger of picking up a violent conduct charge from the FA, but as referee Stuart Attwell reported that he had seen the incident, they cannot take any action against the England midfielder.

This is the second time in little over a week that Gerrard escapes action by the FA for his on-field actions.
