Zidane is currently working as an advisor to new Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Real Madrid have already signed Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
“We really hope that he will sign,” Zidane told radio station RMC.
“It would be superb news for the club.
“If he was to come over to Madrid I would be delighted to welcome him.”
