Redknapp: Nobody is safe

He told the Portsmouth News: “The players know there is fierce competition for places.

“Everyone else changes their team around. Liverpool have done it for the past 90-odd games in a row, so players shouldn’t get too upset if they don’t play.

“I’ve got to keep the players fresh and swap it around. It’s part of the game.

“And it’s not as if I’m bringing mugs in to replace them – we’ve got a good squad. There are some decent players waiting for an opportunity to play. They’re desperate to get into the team.”
