Sevilla win Uefa Cup on penalties

The penalty shoot-out ended in a 3-1 win to Sevilla against Espanyol.

Adriano put Sevilla one up in the 18th minute, but Alberto Riera levelled the score in the 28th minute.

Espanyol’s Moises Hurtado was sent off for a second booking on 68 minutes.

Kanoute made it 2-1 to Sevilla on extra time, but Jonatas leveled the score and the match had to be decided on penalties.

Sevilla became the second team to retain the Uefa Cup after Real Madrid did the same in 1986. The Spanish side won the Uefa Cup final last season against Middlesbrough.
