Southgate was impressed with the Australian keeper’s performance in the FA Cup clash against West Ham on Saturday.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
“He’s been excellent for us. We brought him back into the first team about three games ago and he has been excellent,” said Southgate.
“We give him a bit too much to do sometimes, but he is an outstanding goalkeeper.
“He was a bit unlucky at the start of the season because he had an injury and Ross Turnbull kept him out, but he is now showing the sort of form he is capable of.”
