Following the signing of David Luiz, Chelsea have increased competition for places in defence, and Terry has looked increasingly suspect recently as the team struggle in the league.
The Italian said: “In the back four now we have a lot of opportunity to choose a player to give someone a rest and to maintain every player fit for the rest of the season.”
