Lehmann’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of this season, and has been linked with several German sides.
Wenger said: “I had a little meeting with him but we will have to sit down again. I would like him to stay but we will have to wait. He will not get more than one year.
“What can change now is somebody else can offer him three years.
“Of course he could sign for someone else now but that’s a risk I take.”
