Pollitt has returned to Wigan as cover for the injured Jon Filan.
Ipswich Town boss Magilton told the club website: “We’re very disappointed to see Mike go.
“I know he enjoyed his time with us – albeit a very brief one – and if the opportunity comes up we would certainly welcome him back here.
“Wigan are now light on fit ‘keepers though and Paul Jewell rung me to apologise about taking Mike back but I can understand his needs.
“If gives us a problem ahead of Saturday though because none of our ‘keepers are 100 per cent fit.
“Shane is coming back from a groin injury, Lewis Price has been out for a month with a rib injury and although he’s back training, he’s not match fit.”
