Blackburn have had two bids for Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes rejected.
The Lancashire Telegraph reports that the striker is keen on a move to Blackburn, but has so far been unable to hold talks with the club.
Blackburn have now instead turned their focus to Arsenal striker Chamakh.
Rovers hope they could sign the Morroccan striker in a six-month loan deal.
Chamakh has failed to make the expected impact at Arsenal since joining the club from Bordeaux in 2010.
