City completed the signing of the 25-year-old in a £16million deal from Benfica on transfer deadline day.
Garcia told City’s official website: “Well, I was just glad that everything was sorted in the end. The last few days seemed quite long.
“I’m at the biggest club in England, and one of the biggest in Europe. It is a squad full of top players and I’ll have to keep battling hard to earn my place in the starting eleven because that’s much harder to achieve than any other club. I never had any doubt about coming here once my agent told me about it. I didn’t have to think twice at any point.
“I do know David [Silva] as we have been in the Spain squads. He will be the person who will be helping me out the most, since we’ve known each other since we were just 17-year-old kids.
“I’ll be using him as a tour guide to help me get to know the city. I’m going to try and learn English as quickly as possible to help me integrate.”
