Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs expects Kevin de Bruyne to feature against Cologne this weekend.
Manchester City are reportedly in negotiations to sign the highly-rated midfielder.
“All our planning assumes that Kevin is in the squad, he is fit and that he can play,” said Allofs today. “We think he can play. Distractions are normal for such a player and he has to handle it.
“Today and in the coming days I will not comment on that (speculation), we would actually like to ignore it all for now.”
Wolfsburg head coach Dieter Hecking added: “I can only repeat what I see on a daily basis and there are certainly players who are worse to deal with it , but Kevin is preparing seriously for the game against Cologne.”
