The Italian side are keen for Mexes to sign a new deal witht he club.
“We rely on him and have great faith in him,” general manager Gian Paolo Montali told L’Equipe.
“He has one year still remaining on his contract. Making him prolong that agreement is our priority.
“I will say it very clearly, we intend to work on that in the coming weeks.
“Mexes will not be leaving in January. He is indispensible.”
