Cudicini slams Chelsea

The 35-year-old joined Spurs from Chelsea in the January transfer window.

“Of course I was surprised by the result,” he told the Daily Star.

“I didn’t expect Tottenham to win the game but I was more surprised by the way Chelsea played.

“It was a bit slow, without much pace. Apart from the last 20 minutes or so, where of course Chelsea put us under pressure, there was nothing really special about the performance.

“They looked a bit tired.”

Cudicini also commented on his move to Spurs.

“Sometimes there is a time when you need to change and this time it wasn’t just my decision,” he admitted.

“My contract was running out at the end of the season and the club never really asked me to extend it.

“In the end I felt I had the chance to move to a club with great history and where they were giving me a chance to fight for my place. So I thought it was the right thing to do.”
