The GMR group is also the owners of Indian IPL cricket club Delhi Daredevils.
The group were in Liverpool this week and sat alongside club co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett and watched the 4-4 draw with Arsenal.
Hicks and Gillett are desperate to bring in a new investor as they must soon refinance theri £350million loan.
A Kop source told News of the World: “The GMR group were invited by Hicks and their representative watched the Arsenal match in the directors’ box with Hicks’ son Tommy. It was quite clear the representative was a fan.
“When you look at the company’s commitment to sport they’re exactly the type of partner Tom would be looking for.”
