The Reds came close to winning the Premier League title this season.
“It’s a really good situation for the club that a few players have signed, like Stevie and Daniel Agger, and we already have a really good team,” the Holland international told skysports.com.
“I am really pleased to see that most of the players are staying and if we can keep this team I think we can give an even harder push next season.”
“It is really disappointing because to play for a club like Liverpool is massive and you have to be playing for trophies,” he added.
“Every season we have been close to trophies but, at the end of the day, we haven’t won a trophy for three seasons.
“It definitely has to happen next season and I have confidence that we have the quality to be successful.”
