“If I’d been tempted I’d have gone,” he said in The Sun.
“I was flattered but that was it. The bid was £28million but I don’t know what kind of figures would have been thrown at me.
“I got a call from (chief executive) Peter Kenyon and told him I was flattered but I didn’t want to leave.”
