Mercato 365 says Vieira was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to watch Chelsea’s victory over Liverpool.
Reports suggests the Nerazzurri could sell the midfielder to the Blues in the January transfer window.
Chelsea are keen to bring in a midfielder as they will lose Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel to the African Cup of Nations in January.
The Blues are currently appealing their ban from signing anyone until 2011 and would have to get that decision changed, before making a move.
