Real lost 4-0 away to Segunda Division B side Alcorcon in the first leg of their fourth round Copa del Rey tie.
“I’m very ashamed. There is no reason or explanation for how the team has surrendered. We must come forward and each take the responsibilities that we have to change things in the next game,” he said after the game.
“No explanations, the group worked hard all week. We were focussed and training was good, but Alcorcon have played very well. A tremendous team motivated and able to play at the top. No wonder. I saw them in recent games, we had reports, but they have played very well.
“There is little I can say. We must react. We will find difficult opponents everywhere. You have to play well against all sides. There is no explanation, because I saw the group training well.”
“We have had a very tough loss but there is the return leg and we must show pride. It’s a shame, I hope we apologise to the people of Madrid and move forward,” he added.
