Stoke boss delighted with Fulham win

The Potters managed to exceed their points tally from last season with the 1-0 away win.

“We’re only the second club to have beaten their points tally in their second season, so much for second-season syndrome,” said the Stoke boss.

“That’s a fantastic achievement for everyone at the club.

“It’s a fantastic result. You can’t believe how happy I am to get the three points that takes us over last season’s tally.

“The lads deserve a hell of a lot of credit for it because we got hammered at Chelsea a few weeks ago, and I do mean hammered, and we’ve bounced back with two clean sheets.

“We got beaten 7-0 at Chelsea two games ago and we have played a top team in Everton and we have won here tonight,” added Pulis, whose side earned a 0-0 draw against the Toffees at the weekend.

“It shows the character and spirit of the side that we have produced such a great response to that defeat just down the road eleven days ago.”

He added: “I thought Fulham were the better side in the first half and they caused us problems, but we got more into the game after the break.

“Roy picked his best side tonight but we showed great resilience and spirit. We have had two clean sheets now so that shows our spirit of togetherness.”
