The 31-year-old believes winning the FA Cup final will be a psychological boost ahead of the World Cup.
“I think if we lost that would be the freshest thing on my mind and that would be horrible,” he told Sky Sports News.
“That makes us even more focused on finishing the job but it’s not as easy a game as some would make out.”
“It’s huge. It’s never been done in our history as a club and obviously not with this bunch of players,” he added on winning the FA Cup.
“It’s something we really want to do. I grew up watching teams win the double in the 70s and 80s.
“If we can put ourselves amongst those names it could go down as one of the biggest years in the club’s history.”
