Kapo joined Wigan in a £3.5million deal in July 2008.
He told L’Equipe: “I should know more in a few days’ time. My agent should be meeting the management at Wigan. I hope we can reach an agreement so that they release me.
“My wish is to stay in Ligue 1, as simple as that. I enjoy this league. I’m making this decision for my children too.
“I want them to have a quality education in France.”
