Ireland has been linked with a move away from Manchester City in search for regular first-team action this season.
Redknapp said: “I like him, but he is expensive.
“Maybe he’ll be £11m or 12. We wouldn’t be in a position to spend that much on him if that’s what they’re wanting.”
