The Irishman has impressed for Spurs in pre-season and bagged two goals in a friendly victory over Fiorentina on Saturday.
“I don’t want to sell him. I don’t know how you replace him,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
“He’s a good player, he scores goals, his enthusiasm for the game is infectious and second to none and he trains great.
“It’s alright letting good players go, but it’s trying to find something better, that’s very difficult. He’s a good player.”
