United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed the England international’s injury.
Rooney limped out of United’s 2-2 draw with Bolton in the Premier League on Sunday with an ankle prolem.
The United boss said: “It will be two to three weeks. But it depends because Wayne has done quite well with his recovery from injury in the past.”
