Cani’s contract with Villarreal is set to expire at the end of the season, but he has yet to hold talks over a new deal with the club.
He said: “There has been nothing specific said about my renewal, but I want to stay and it is normal that if the club is happy with my performance, then we will reach an agreement quickly.
“I have spent a few years here, and if possible I’d like to add a lot more. This is a great squad, with great players, who are playing well and winning games.”
