Eto’o came close to leaving Barcelona for Roma, but the deal collapsed and the striker instead joined Inter Milan a year later as part of the deal that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic join the Spanish side.
“I was close to signing for Roma two years ago, then everything vanished. Today I am happy where I am,” he told Italian television.
