Lineker believes this Spurs side could manage to start claiming major silverware.
He told The Mirror: “I couldn’t say that they’re the best Spurs side I’ve seen yet, because they’ve got to get a bit stronger and get a few more results first. But they’ve already got the potential to be one of the great Tottenham sides.
“If they can just make themselves a bit harder to penetrate they would have a bit of everything.
“You can already see they’ve got a terrific squad and a big one, although Harry is right that maybe they’re one or two players short of that now.
“We were in the same position in 1991, just a couple of players short, but then the club ran into financial turmoil. That won’t happen this time.”
