Lennon’s goal not only secured a 2-1 win for Spurs but was also the winger’s first goal in over a year.
“I should score more goals but I’ve had a lot of injuries, so it’s great to get back on the score sheet,” Lennon told Sky Sports.
“He [Defoe] was unlucky with the penalty, everyone wanted him to score, he’s been out for a while and I think he’ll be thankful for me after that.”
