Redknapp watched Barcelona in action against Real Madrid earlier this weeek and admits that he is keen to avoid the Catalans in the last 16 of the Champions League.
“I think anyone wants to avoid them!” said Redknapp.
“It was just amazing; it was as good as I have ever seen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better performance.
“It just goes to show you don’t need big power.
“Any little lads out there who are growing up, don’t ever be told you’re too small to play the game, because it’s about ability, this game.
“Look at Barcelona with their players: (Andres) Iniesta, Xavi (Hernandez) – just incredible – (Lionel) Messi. Tiny little lads with fantastic ability.
“So, when you’ve got that ability and you can play and pass the ball, that’s the way to play the game.
“Any little kids who watch and get told they’re too small, watch that video and you’ll see you’re never too small.
“It’s not about size; it’s about ability and wanting to play.”
